Alberta Highway 11, better known as the David Thompson Highway, is a road that runs from Banff National Park in British Columbia to Highway 2, which connects Calgary and Alberta in Canada. Along this famous stretch of road sits a number of natural wonders just waiting to be discovered.
According to the Calgary Herald, there are a number of hiking trails located just off the main road. The Abraham Lake area, a 33-kilometer long body of water, is especially suitable for families and travelers looking to explore the wilderness.
Despite the region's undiscovered nature, travelers will still find plenty of lodging and quiet retreats. The Aurum Lodge, located right near the lake, allows access to a number of popular trails.
One spot that vacationers may want to check out is Stiffleur Falls, which can be accessed by a trail located near the lodge and lake. After a short hike, travelers will arrive at the falls themselves, where they'll barely be able to see the bottom of the impressive waterfall.
