When planning a Canadian holiday, it pays to research ahead of time and plan out an itinerary, as there are so many things to do and see. That's why it can be especially helpful to solicit the opinions of people who have been there before.

London's Daily Telegraph recently put out a request for tips from readers about their vacations to the Canadian Rockies. The region is popular with British tourists, who make up one of the larger segments of travelers.

The area around the Canadian Rockies is famed for the Icefields Parkway, which is consistently named one of the most beautiful roads in the world. While travelers should definitely be sure to spend some time in this area, one reader championed a lesser-known region.

The Kootenay Rockies, on the British Columbia side of the area, are a bit warmer than their more popular Alberta counterparts, according to the news source. It's here that tourists will find the Powder Highway, a road that connects numerous ski destinations and untouched natural wonders.

There's no arguing with the beauty of the Rockies and the reputation of a resort like Whistler-Blackcomb. But for travelers who like to blaze their own, slightly warmer trail, the Powder Highway could be a nice adventure as well.
