Whistler Extends Ski Season

Whistler Extends Ski Season
Whistler Extends Ski Season
With snow still falling in the Whistler region, the owners of the famous resort have elected to extend the official ski season through the end of May. This means that travelers who book their Canada vacations for next month could potentially ski, bike and golf all during the same trip.

Whistler is just three inches of snow away from 2010-2011 becoming the second snowiest season in the resort's history. In light of this, the group decided to keep the ski season going. Whistler Mountain will stay open until April 25th, while Blackcomb will stay open until May 30th. Skiing is actually available into the summer for those who plan on visiting later, but travelers will have to head to the always-frozen Blackcomb Glacier for that, which doesn't open until June 18th.

The resort claims that the upcoming weeks are the perfect time to enjoy the "Whistler Trifecta" - the combination of skiing, mountain biking and golf. The golf season officially kicks off on the weekend of April 23rd, and the resort has four courses for travelers to enjoy. The Whistler Mountain Bike Park opens May 20th, so guests will have a 10-day window to complete the "Whistler Trifecta."
