Day 1 – Canadian Rockies Train Vacation Begins - Arrive in Vancouver
You can’t help but relax as soon as you arrive in the west coast city of Vancouver. Surrounded by mountains and ocean, the air is fresh, the ambiance cool, and the residents friendly. Scents from all around the world entice: Japanese sushi, Chinese kung pao, Indian curries. Multiculturalism thrives in this unique Canadian metropolis.
Day 2 – On the Rocky Mountaineer – from Vancouver to Kamloops
The gentle ‘chug-chug-chug’ begins as your Canadian Rockies bound train pulls out of the station. The sweet smell of fresh fruit and orange juice wafts through your carriage. Step onto the outdoor viewing platform for unobstructed photos and cool breezes. Early in the evening - after a day of good food, great company, and awe-inspiring scenery - the Rocky Mountaineer arrives in the mountain town of Kamloops, for your overnight stay.
Day 3 – On the Rocky Mountaineer – into the Rocky Mountains
This morning return to your rail station for the final leg of your train travel vacation into the Canadian Rockies. The onboard guide teaches you about the important history of the Canadian railroad and the colorful characters who built it. Before you realize, you are surrounded by the snow capped Canadian Rocky mountains and have arrived in the bustling town of Banff.
Day 4 – In the Canadian Rockies – Explore Banff
Take in the sights, scents and sounds of this charming mountain town and it’s surroundings, on a morning tour with a small group and guide. Enjoy a ride up the Banff Gondola, for views of the stunning mountain vistas in the distance.
With souvenirs in hand, you travel through the foothills of the Rockies and into Calgary as your Canadian Rockies train vacation comes to an end.
